NOTE: Don't use the SENTRI lanes unless all passengers have SENTRI or Global Entry cards and the vehicle you are in has been registered.
Enter the northbound toll road in Playas de Rosarito and proceed 11.5 miles (18.5 km) to the toll-booth
After the toll plaza in Playas de Tijuana, continue north.
There is a good bathroom stop on your right ¾ mile (1.4 KM) from the toll plaza
After the restrooms, move to the left lane and stay there for the next 1.3 miles (2.2km)..
The road turns to the right (east) as it hits the border fence and merges with another.
When you see a gas station on your right, followed by a bridge over your road, move to the middle lane (but don’t take the first right).
You will go over a small valley and be in the right lane. Stay in the right lane and take the next right at the sign that says “San Diego Zona Rio”
You will go around in a clockwise loop and come out underneath the bridge you were just on heading NORTH towards the border fence.
Continue on this road for another 2.7 miles (4.4 KM) as it follows the border fence going east to the “Medical Center - San Diego Pedwest - Av Revolucion” sign where you will take a right.
On this new street, stay in the middle lanes and proceed over the bridge following the signs to the “Medical Center”
After crossing the bridge, take a right and get in the left lane for the Medical Center traffic circle.
As you go around this traffic circle, you will see a pedestrian bridge in front of you with a hospital on the right. Go under the bridge.
You will pass the Medical Center on your right.
At the stop sign, you have to go right, then you move into the left lane.
Take the first left to “Blvd Padre Kino - Aeropuerto”
You will travel under a bridge in a big "S" and immediately go over another road.
As you reach the top of the "S", the SENTRI line will be directly in front of you and on your left side at the next stop sign.
There is no way to know how long the line will be, so you need to stay on Padre Kino following the line until you see the end of it.
Once you find the end of the line, you can turn around at the next traffic circle (or do a u-turn if it’s safe) and enter the line.
The map at the bottom of this page shows which way the line forms and shows the nearest traffic circles. Since you will be following the SENTRI line, you shouldn’t get lost.
Traffic Circle #1 is our most commonly used SENTRI line entry point.
Traffic Circle #2 is big and hard to navigate. We need to use it sometimes when the SENTRI line is busy.
Traffic Circle #3 is the furthest away from the SENTRI line and very rarely used
IMPORTANT: When you turn around and approach the line, DO NOT get in the right or left hand lanes. If you do, you’ll likely need to turn around and go back to the end of the line as cutting into the line is rude and causes people to get angry.
Remember to stay in the middle of the road to enter the SENTRI lines.
